Vj Mauro was born and raised in Cali Colombia, also known as the salsa capital of the world. He grew up listening to the unique salsa bands from the 70’s and 80’s and was very much influenced by his fathers massive vinyl collection and devoted passion for music. A trait sure to be inherited! At the early Age of fourteen, he moved to Tampa Florida where his fascination and passion for other rhythmic genres grew everyday. Vj Mauro’s passion for music drove him to collect music from all types of genres. He drove himself to perfect his talent allowing him to start playing for friends and family at special events. In 2007 his talent did not go unnoticed. He began his professional Dj Career at San Carlos Tavern, One of Tampa’s top Colombian night clubs. VJ Mauro was making an appearance in the Colombian scene, he made his way to one of Tampa’s latin hot spots known as Mango Biche Night Club, where he held residency for four consecutive years as head DJ. This inspired VJ Mauro to take his passion and talent for music to the next level.Video mixing! Acquiring a Massive Collection of music Videos for his people to enjoy as they dance the night away. Vj Mauro has played and rocked some of Tampa’s night life scene, including night clubs such as; El Meson Caribe, Tropic Lounge,The Venue, Hogans Beach, Zo lounge, Casa 21 Restaurant Bar & Grill and is currently resident Dj at Tampa’s Jackson’s Night Club. Vj Mauro has had the pleasure to play at many Colombian festivals, and the honor of opening up concerts for many famous artists like Jory Boy, La Banda Gorda, Cabas, Luisito Carrion, Cano Estremera, The Lebron Brothers, Paquito Guzman, N-Klabe, La Suprema Corte, Conjunto Chaney, Jorge Celedon, Los Diablitos, Luis Felipe Gonzalez, Willie Gonzales, Maelo Ruiz, Pedro Conga, Henrry Fiol, Pastor Lopez, Mariano Civico, Nino Segarra, Rey Sepulveda, Pedro Brull and Integration Casanova.
